Ingredients
Method
- Directions
- Cook the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain and set aside.
- Sauté the Shrimp
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add garlic and sauté 30 seconds until fragrant. Add shrimp, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
- Make the Alfredo Sauce
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Melt butter, then add garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Pour in heavy cream and stir gently until slightly thickened (about 2–3 minutes). Gradually whisk in Parmesan until smooth and creamy.
- Combine Everything
- Add the cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat. If the sauce seems too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water.
- Add the Shrimp
- Return shrimp to the skillet, stirring gently to coat in the sauce and heat through.
- Serve & Garnish
- Plate immediately, sprinkling with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan.
Notes
Chef’s Tip
• For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
• To make Garlic Chicken Alfredo, substitute the shrimp with 2 grilled chicken breasts, sliced thin.
• Add steamed broccoli or sautéed mushrooms for extra texture and color.
