Ingredients
Method
- Directions
- Season and Sear the Chicken
- Pat chicken dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear chicken 5–6 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through (165°F / 74°C internal temperature). Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Make the Sauce Base
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add garlic and sauté 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Deglaze and Simmer
- Pour in chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits. Add heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
- Stir gently and simmer for 3–4 minutes, until thickened slightly.
- Combine Everything
- Return chicken to the skillet, spooning sauce over each piece. Simmer another 2–3 minutes to heat through.
- Serve
- Garnish with fresh basil and extra Parmesan. Serve immediately over pasta, mashed potatoes, or rice.
Notes
Chef’s Tip
• For added depth, stir in 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard or a squeeze of lemon juice.
• Substitute pork chops or shrimp for the chicken — the sauce pairs beautifully.
• Make it a baked dish by transferring to an oven-safe skillet and baking at 375°F (190°C) for 10–15 minutes.
• Leftovers taste even better the next day — the sauce thickens and intensifies in flavor.
